This Building was built inward 1957. When constructed, it contained a solid set down flooring that includes commercial stores, in addition to thence the upper flooring was added to serve equally a dormitory for the traders. This is unremarkably called "wakalah or Khan". At the same year, Dubai Municipality offices moved to the edifice in addition to it became its caput quarter until 1964. Later, the Municipality moved to a novel edifice at the Al Maktoum road.
Due to the importance of this edifice inward the history of Dubai Municipality, in addition to because of the significance of its location inward the middle of Old Deira marketplace in addition to side yesteryear side to the creek, inward 1999 the Architectural Heritage Department restored, equipped in addition to furnished the edifice to perish a museum dedicated for the Municipality history.
